My Village...

Redhill Village had already existed for almost 100 years
when the Nationalist Government of SA declared Simonstown a White Group Area in in 1968, a macabre ruling that would destroy thousands of Communities across the Land!People were relocated to areas designated for specific races and needless to say we got the short end of the stick. That is all history now and I would`ve gladly moved on in life if it were`nt for the nightmare process of getting our land back! Most residents of Redhill who instituted a Land Claim accepted approximately R 14 000.00 as compensation in 1989, while we said the only form of just and equitable restitution would be to have our Land back at Redhill or alternate land in Simonstown. That was 13 years ago...
I grew up in the rural farming Village of Redhill and at 12 years of age experienced the full impact of Forced Removals in SA that saw the best areas in the Country `allocated` to Whites. We were uprooted from our ancestral home of generations and forced to start a new life in strange and unfamiliar surroundings.
I am Anton Kallis, the youngest son of Claude and Christine Kallis. We are five children namely, Graham, Everette, Angela, Zelda and myself. We adopted  Sharon in later years after her Mom died of cancer, so that made us a happy family of six kids!My dad passed on and my mom is living in Belhar with Zelda
